Cross Window, Upper Holloway,
London.
This is an artificially lit window.
The light box was constructed away from the wall without a back to give a halo
effect on the wall behind. The colours transition between cold blues in the
centre of the cross to warmer blues at the cross's extremeties. The philosophy
behind the design was to contrast the peaceful heavenly colours of the backdrop
with the pain and turmoil of the contorted flesh tones, referencing the life
and death of Christ. |
